Financial Reporting
The problem
Most practice dashboards flatter. They count proformas as revenue, drafts as work in progress, and produce a number the partner cannot repeat to an accountant without caveats.
How Mersal solves it
Every money figure derives from fiscal documents only. Drafts and proformas are excluded by a single shared classifier, so the dashboard, the ledger and the export agree by construction rather than by coincidence.
How it works
One classifier, everywhere
Whether a document counts is decided once and used by every list, KPI and export. Two screens cannot disagree about revenue because they share the definition.
Aged receivables, not just a total
Outstanding is broken into current, 30, 60 and 90-plus, because a firm chases a 90-day balance differently from a 20-day one.
Split by tax book
VAT-rated and exempt work report separately, alongside VAT collected, so the figures line up with what the return needs.
What it prevents
- A revenue figure that includes estimates
- Two screens giving two different answers
The fastest way to judge this is to watch it run against your own way of working.
