Synced Inbox
The problem
Correspondence is where matters actually happen, and it lives in a mailbox no case system can see. Systems that fix this usually do it by ingesting everything, which is a different problem wearing a solution's clothes.
How Mersal solves it
Mersal connects the lawyer's own Gmail or Outlook and syncs only a label or folder the firm designates, optionally narrowed to specific senders. Nothing outside that scope is ever fetched, and nothing is attached to a matter automatically.
How it works
Scoped by design, not by filter
The firm chooses the label and the senders. Mail outside that scope is not fetched, not stored and not searchable — which is a stronger statement than hiding it after the fact.
Attaching is a decision
A message becomes part of a matter when someone attaches it, in one deliberate click. Automatic attachment would guess, and a guess in a case file is a liability.
Sent from the lawyer, not from us
Mail sent from within a matter goes through the lawyer's own connected mailbox, so the client sees the address they already know.
What it prevents
- A case system quietly ingesting a lawyer's entire mailbox
- Correspondence that exists only in one person's inbox
The fastest way to judge this is to watch it run against your own way of working.
