Sharing documents with a client without email chaos

The situation

A client needs twelve documents across two matters, and will return four of them signed.

What goes wrong without a system

Twelve attachments across several threads, a size limit hit halfway, and signed copies returned to one person's inbox where they stay.

How it runs in Mersal

  1. Grant what you mean to grant

Access is granted per folder, matter or document to a named client user. Nothing adjacent is exposed.

  2. The client signs in

They see only what was shared, grouped by matter, in the firm's language.

  3. Signed copies come back to the file

Where a folder allows upload, the returned document lands in that folder, not in an inbox.

  4. Correspondence stays attached

Mail about the matter is attached to it deliberately, from the lawyer's own mailbox.

What it prevents

  • Attachments as a filing system
  • Exposing a folder while sharing one document
  • Signed copies that never reach the file
